The Governor’s Review 2026 at the Royal Hospital Chelsea

We are delighted to invite you to the Governor’s Review at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
This stunning military parade, a highlight of the Royal Hospital’s calendar, is the dress rehearsal for our annual Founder’s Day parade, which commemorates Oak Apple Day and the birthday of King Charles II – whose vision for a home for veteran soldiers resulted in the foundation of the Royal Hospital Chelsea more than three centuries ago.
Watch the Chelsea Pensioners on parade in full ceremonial dress in the Royal Hospital’s iconic Figure Court, inspected by the Governor of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw KCB OBE DL. Following the parade there will be an opportunity to mingle with fellow guests in a hospitality marquee located on the North Front.
Timings:
- 9.45am: Chelsea Big Local guests to be picked up from outside St John’s Church, Chelsea (on the King’s Road) by black taxis & driven to the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s London Gate
- 10am: On arrival to London Gate, all guests must be signed in by a Royal Hospital staff member from the Department for Public Engagement (give Marina Spiteri as a point of contact)
- 10– 10.30am: All guests to be seated in Figure Court by 10.30am (seating is unreserved)
- 11am: Parade begins promptly.
- 12pm: Reception in the Soane Stable Yard following the parade until 1pm. This will consist of a light buffet lunch only.
- 1pm: collection from the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s Chelsea Gate at 1pm & return to World’s End
Dress:
- This is an outdoor event with no shelter, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring umbrellas if needed.
- Gentlemen: Lounge suits
- Ladies: Smart daywear (hats optional)
- Medals: Optional
